An Xtra Happy Birthday; April 16th

Yesterday on 15th of April four Eurovision singers had a birthday. Today the are also four artist that celebrate their birthday. Two of them are were actually born in the same year. One of the birthday stars had the heir inspired the heir to become a Eurovision Star as well. Samir Javazadeh, Mikel Herzog, Doris Dragović and Björgvin Halldórsson were born on this day.

Mikel Herzog,  58

Spain picked the singer Mikel to be their reprecentative in Birmingham, UK. That is he took part at Eurovision in 1998 with the song “¿Qué voy a hacer sin ti?”. The song landed the 16th place out of 25 countries.

Doris Dragović, 57

Doris and and Bo are both born the same year, she goes first because she took part Eurovision before him. But Yugoslavia picked her in 1986, therefore she got to perform in Bergen Norway. She sang “Željo moja” and finished in 11th place.

Her Eurovision story continued, that is Croatia selected her in 1999, then with a song called “Marija Magdalena”. Her song was quite popular in Israel and got 118 points which gave her the 4th place at the contest.

Bo (Björgvin) Halldórsson, 57

Iceland chose Bo to go on their behalf to Eurovision in 1995. That is why he performed the song “Núna” on the stage. The song got 31 points therefore placing 15th at the contest. His daugter Svala took part at Eurovision in 2017 with the song “Paper“.

Samir Javazadeh, 38

Azerbaijan selected the rock singer Elnur to go on their behalf at Eurovision in 2008. However after the selection the it was desited that Samir would join him and make the song a duet. Samir is the dark dress one in the chair, well until he stands up and the white suit under it is revealed.
