Several outlets have reported that Alexander Panayotov has been chosen to represent Russia in Eurovision 2020. Now the singer responded to the allegations on Instagram saying that it’s “fake news”.
Alexander says that he does not own any information of who will represent Russia in Eurovision 2020. It’s possible that the decision hasn’t been made yet. He says that the only source that will reliably announce the participant from Russia is Channel One, who is responsible of the country’s Eurovision participation.
Yesterday we reported that Alexander is one of the rumoured artists to represent Russia in Rotterdam. Other rumoured names include Zivert and Polina Gagarina. Earlier this month the Channel One’s Director General, Konstantin Ernst said that the artist will be decided by the end of February.
