Rehearsal review

Destiny’s performance begins with a silhouette of Destiny in front of a small pink square on the LED backdrop. As she begins to sing, the Maltese Junior Eurovision winner is revealed to be wearing a pink Charleston-inspired outfit and is using a head microphone to allow her full range of movement when taking part in the choreography. She is then joined by four female dancers, also in pink, and the entire LED backdrop is changed to bright pink also which is extremely eye-catching.

There is also LED strip light which begin to flash to the beat in the chorus and once we enter the “Je Me Casse” post-chorus, the screen splits into three. Destiny sings in the centre whilst the dancers doing the hand movements appear above and below. Throughout the performance there are a lot of wide angles to show the entirety of the block colour on the LED backdrop which changes to green for the second verse.

In the second verse, Destiny and her dancers each have their own pink “door” background before she comes down the stairs to belt out her vocals extremely confidently. She is rejoined by her dancers until the middle 8 approaches in which the LEDs are turned off and we focus on Destiny belting out the big notes. Then, as we reach the final chorus, the colour fills the LEDs once again and we are treated to our first pyrotechnic curtain of the rehearsals! Destiny’s vocals throughout are flawless despite the choreography she has committed to.
