Following yesterday’s reports on the countries that didn’t score well in the televoting of the Eurovision Song Contest, we now take a look at those that did. Italy scored 318 televote points and in the breakdown, we see how well Måneskin actually did on their way to victory.
Italy score top three in the majority of countries
Måneskin convincingly won the televoters over with a whopping 318 points. Soon after the show, we found out that literally every country put Zitti e buoni in their televoting top ten. Five countries decided to award their douze points to Italy, with a further thirteen putting them second. With seven third places as well, that means that 25 out of 38 voting countries ranked Italy among their three favourites of the night, a whopping 66% of the participating nations. Their average score with televoters was a whopping 3.2.
Countries that awarded Italy douze points: |
Bulgaria |
Malta |
San Marino |
Serbia |
Ukraine |
It is interesting to look at the geographical spread of the votes for Italy. Among the douze pointers, we see Bulgaria, Serbia and Ukraine. If we look down at the ten and eight pointers, we see that Måneskin hoovered up an insane amount of points from countries in the eastern part of Europe: Azerbaijan, Croatia, Lithuania, Poland, Slovenia, Russia and Romania are all in the list.
Interestingly, only five countries decided not to rank Italy in their top five. It is fair to say that Nordic Europe wasn’t as convinced, with Denmark and Iceland putting the song at #6. Sweden and the United Kingdom awarded Måneskin and eighth place in their televoting, with host country The Netherlands giving them the lowest televote score: 2 points, as they finished at #9 in the Dutch televoting.
