Rehearsal review

Stage presentation

It’s not quite the chaotic show we were expecting from Moldova, it’s a little more static. I was expecting a train, but maybe that was a little too much, haha! I feel like their energy is really great, so they should advantage from that once there is an audience in the venue. They are definitely adding in a lot of fun colours, wacky outfits, and the stage doesn’t feel small. The sun does disadvantage them regarding backdrop, because it kind of hides the words “Hey Ho, Let’s Go” that are displayed in the background. The colours are so fun, though!

Costumes and styling

The violin players look so fun! Their outfits are wacky black and white, definitely fun. The lead singer is dressed similarly to what we’ve seen in the pre-parties, I’m not sure if this is the go-to outfit for him.

Vocal quality

Nothing to complain about here! Vocally as strong as the studio version, with the same energy too!

Overall impression

This song remains one of the most fun ones in the competition, which should make it an easy appeal for televoters. However, I expected a bit more. I am missing a bit of the silliness that makes the entry one of my favourites. It feels a little static, but I feel like having an audience there will be a massive improvement. The revamp is fun, it makes the song a little more diverse. In general, I still can’t complain too much, it’s still a fun song that can bring the party to Turin!
