After the eight acts of the first semi-final had performed, four qualified to the final, which will be held this Saturday in Benidorm.
Four qualifies, but less details this year
This is the fourth edition of Benidorm Festival, but unlike previous years, RTVE did not reveal any detailed results for the semi-final. In the last three years, full results were provided during the broadcast, and already gave a good idea of who the favourites were. Indeed, in all three editions, the winners of both semi-finals finished in the top 2 positions in the final show.
Yesterday, the qualifiers were (in running order):
- Kuve – “Loca xti“
- Lucas Bun – “Te escribo en el cielo“
- Lachispa – “Hartita de llorar“
- Daniela Blasco – “Uh nana“
The other four acts, that did not make it to the final, were:
- David Afonso – “Amor barato“
- Chica Sobresalto – “Mala feminista“
- K!ngdom – “Me gustas tú“
- Sonia & Selena – “Reinas“
This year also saw a change in the voting methods, with RTVE discarding the use of a demoscopic jury. Instead, the results are a mix of jury (50%), traditional phone voting, by call or text (25%) and app voting through the RTVEPlay app (25%).
