RTÉ asks the EBU for a breakdown of Ireland’s televote

In the aftermath of the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 in Basel, Switzerland more questions have been raised by broadcasters over the participation of Israel and the televoting results. Irish broadcaster RTÉ are the latest broadcaster to demand formal discussions with the EBU regarding their concerns with the results of Eurovision 2025.

Despite the joyous scenes for Austria’s third victory in the Eurovision Song Contest, with JJ’s, ‘Wasted Love’, numerous broadcasters raised concerns with the televoting results. Many, including AVROTROS/NPO, NRK, RTVE, RTVSLO, RÚV, VRT and Yle have raised formal complaints with the EBU following the televote victory and second place for Israel. Now, Norwegian broadcaster RTÉ has joined the growing list of delegations to formally issue a statement following Eurovision 2025.

“RTÉ has requested a breakdown in voting numbers from the EBU and its voting partner Once. RTÉ looks forward to participating in the discussions and review.”

The Director of ESC, Martin Green has responded with an open letter to the Eurovision community. In it, he notes the concerns of the broadcasters and confirms discussions will take place in the upcoming EBU Reference Group meeting.
