Eurovision Song Contest 2025 attracts 166 million viewers

The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) has announced the viewing statistics for a record-breaking Eurovision Song Contest 2025 that attracted a total of 166 million viewers across the 37 participating broadcasters.

Highest viewing share since Eurovision 2004

The Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 in Basel, Switzerland achieved viewing figures of 166 million. This is an increase of 3 million on the 2024 contest in Malmö. This amounted to a combined viewing share of 47.7% – the highest since 2004. In terms of youth viewership for those aged 15-24, the viewing share totalled 60.4%, the highest ever. Overall the Grand Final achieved over 50% viewing shares in 19 of the 37 participants.

Online engagement was equally strong. Between May 3-24, the official YouTube channel achieved a total reach of 369.5 million. Including 60.7 million unique views from 232 nations and territories. During the week following the contest, the Grand Final broadcast on YouTube reached 12.1 million viewers.

Further digital engagement saw related Eurovision contest being watched 748.5 million times on TikTok and 969 million views on Instagram.

ROTW voting from over 140 nations

The EBU have also revealed that 146 nations voted as part of the ROTW vote. The top ten nations from outside the participating nations were – USA, Canada, Romania, Slovakia, Mexico, Türkiye, Hungary, Kosovo, UAE and South Africa.
