🇲🇹 Malta Eurovision Music Exchange Camp 2026
Malta’s national broadcaster PBS has confirmed it will participate in the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest 2026 taking place in Austria next May. Along with this confirmation, PBS have announced details of its third annual Malta Eurovision Music Exchange Camp.
This camp is a chance for experienced songwriters from Malta and across the European continent to work with local Maltese artists. Eventually, the songs from this camp will become part of the national selection Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2026, as well as other selections for different participating broadcasters. The winner of this national final will represent Malta on the Eurovision stage in Austria.
Last year, the success of the camp saw Miriana Conte’s, ‘Serving’ reach the Grand Final of the Basel contest. A total of 18 entries in 2025 advanced to the MESC 2025 selection. 40% of the 2025 songwriting camp collaborators also contributed towards the songs that represented Armenia, Denmark, Switzerland and of course, the Eurovision 2025 winner, Austria.
Among the confirmed line-up of collaborators attending the camp are: Dav Jr and Jean-Paul (The Busker), Peter Borg, Christina Magrin (Malta JESC 2016), Lon Kirkop, Sarah Bonnici (Malta 2024), Cyprian Cassar, Matteo Depares, Muxu, Emil Calleja, Bayliss, Alejandro Monsegneur. Furthermore, various songwriters have confirmed attendance, including: Linnea Deb (co-writer of Eurovision winner ‘Heroes’), Marcus Winter John, Melanie Wehbe (co-writer of Denmark 2019, 2024, 2025), Bas Wisnik, Patrik Jean, and Abi Jones.
Songwriting camp commences
The Malta Eurovision Music Exchange Camp takes place from June 15-24. Throughout this time there will be daily updates across the various social media platforms of Eurovision Malta. These updates will feature exclusive behind-the-scenes footage of the songs for MESC 2026 being created.
“Miriana and the team did such a great job! She created a lot of buzz around Malta and brought us back to the finals. We’re confident more eyes will be on MESC next year, which can only benefit our artists.
The reaction from both the Maltese public and international fans has been overwhelming. It’s motivated us to raise the bar further and make MESC even more accessible to a global audience. While we can’t reveal too much just yet, we’re focused on showcasing Maltese talent far beyond our shores.
Of course we want to win. Our mission is to give Maltese artists international visibility—but ultimately, we want to bring Eurovision home to our islands, and bring Europe and the world to us.”
