NRK the Norwegian national broadcaster has announced Skrellex has won the Radio Duel wildcard round to become the ninth finalist and released all the competing songs for its Eurovision 2026 selection Melodi Grand Prix 2026.
🇳🇴 Skrellex wins Radio Duel wildcard round
Earlier this year, NRK announced the eight pre-qualified finalists for its Eurovision Song Contest 2026 selection, Melodi Grand Prix 2026. To promote the competition and expand the format to its radio networks, NRK held a Radio Duel wildcard round to select a ninth finalist. After a series of Duels featuring eight artists, Skrellex came out victorious. The full line-up for MGP 2026 is as follows:
- Alexander Rybak – ‘Rise‘
- Emma – ‘Northern Lights‘
- Hedda Mae – ‘Snap Back‘
- Jonas Lovv – ‘Ya Ya Ya‘
- Leonardo Amor – ‘Prayer‘
- Mileo – ‘Frankenstein‘
- Silke – ‘Forevermore‘
- Skrillex – ‘Into The Wild‘
- Storm – ‘Lullaby‘
This marks the second comeback of Alexander Rybak, the Eurovision 2009 winner, who also won MGP in 2018 to represent his country in Lisbon. Mileo, of Australian and Norwegian heritage, also comes back after taking part in MGP 2024 with “You’re mine“, which did not make it to the final at the time but did find a lot of popularity among Eurovision fans. As for Silke, she was the (uncredited) female voice in “Ekko inni meg“, from MGP 2023, by Jone. Meanwhile, Emma is the sister of Marcus and Martinus who represented Sweden in 2024.
Once again, MGP changes location for its national final. This year, it will take place in Lillehammer in the JESC 2004 venue of Håkons Hall. The show will be hosted by Marte Stokstad, Markus Neby, and Ronny Brede Aase. The final will be held on February 28 alongside the selections of Bulgaria, Finland, Germany, Italy and Serbia for a truly Super Saturday!
