Italian broadcaster RAI has just announced on their Facebook page that Il Volo is indeed singing Grande Amore in Vienna. The announcement comes as no surprise after the Sanremo victory last Saturday.
The statement on RAI’s Facebook reads:
It’s official: @IlVolo will sing «Grande Amore» in Vienna! @Eurovision#Eurovision #escita
The announcement is no surprise as no winning Sanremo act ever changed their song for Eurovision. The last two Sanremo winners both ended up high on the scoreboard: Jalisse’s Fiumi di Parole came fourth in 1997, Marco Mengoni’s L’Essenziale came seventh in 2013. Italy currently are the bookmakers’ favourites to win Eurovision 2015.
