Voltaj will represent Romania at the Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna. Their song ‘De la capăt’ received first place with both juries and televoting.
Victory was assured after a 12-song final, with the popular band securing maximum points from the televote ahead of former winner Luminita Anghel. Voltaj’s song, ‘De la capăt’ was the first to perform on the night. The jury eventually revealed their verdict, with the same top two results. Third place went to Ovidiu Anton.
‘De la capăt’ tells the difficult story of families who live apart, due to parents moving abroad from Romania for work. Romania will perform in the first semifinal in Vienna on 19th May. The Balkan nation has already been drawn in the second half of the show. Last year, Romania finished in fourteenth in Copenhagen when Paula Seling & Ovi performed their song Miracle. Ovi was part of the jury today.
