Austria is choosing in less than an hour, so we spoke to the Austrian girl who didn’t choose German or English for her song. This eightteen your old will be performing a French modern chanson: it’s Zoe!
escXtra.com: Hey Zoe! Thanks for taking the time to speak to us!
Zoe: Thank you for having me! 🙂
X: Could you introduce yourself to our readers?
Z: I’m Zoe, I’m 18 years old and I’m a Singer and Songwriter from Vienna. I also love acting and I definitly want to make singing & acting my profession. 🙂 I come from a family of musicians and music was always around, I guess that’s why it’s a part of me and my passion. I finished school at the french Lycée in Vienna last year with my school leaving examination. Since then I worked on my  music and had my first appearance in a TV series. I am very excited to have the opportunity to work currently on my first album that will be released in May.
X: Who are your musical idols?
Z: Edith Piaf, Zaz and Beyonce.
X: What can you tell us about your dream to go to Eurovision?
Z: This dream has always been inside of me altough I have never thought that I’d come that close to this amazing opportunity. I’m very thankful and grateful to be in the Austrian Finals and I’d be the happiest girl on earth if I could sing for Austria. 🙂
X: Your father (member of Papermoon) tried to go to Eurovision back in 2012. Does his experience help you?
Z: His 25 years of experience as Songwriter, Producer and Performer definitely help and he teaches me a lot. He supports me with his knowledge, fatherly advices and, of course, with love. 🙂
X: You also sing in French. Why did you decide to do that?
Z: French is such a beautiful language. It’s very poetic and it just sounds beautiful and soft for music lyrics. But I also sing in english, and sometimes I mix it. 🙂
X: What’s your favourite place in Austria?
Z: The inner city of Vienna. It’s so beautiful!
X: What’s your favourite thing to eat or drink?
Z: I love sushi but I also love the traditional Viennese kitchen.
X: Are you a Eurovision fan?
Z: Definitely YES. I watch it every year since I was a little girl.
X: Do you have an all time favourite Eurovision song?
Z: Euphoria by Loreen!
X: Finally, do you have a message for the readers of escXtra.com?
Z: Believe in your dreams! Never give up!
