It had been rumoured for sometime, but this afternoon in a press conference SVT finally confirmed the hosts for next year’s Eurovision Song Contest in Stockholm – reigning champion Måns Zelmerlöw will take on presenting duties alongside Petra Mede, returning to the stage for the second time in just three years!
SVT’s decision will not come as a big surprise to many as it had been heavily expected that Måns would have a significant role after revealing in his winning press conference that he would ‘love the opportunity to host the contest’ if it were offered to him.
As well as his successful music career, Måns has previously hosted Melodifestivalen and SVT’s popular summer festival Allsång på Skansen.
Petra Mede also proved popular after her successful role at the 2013 contest in Malmö in which she hosted all three shows single handed. The BBC were also impressed with Petra, inviting her to co-host last year’s Eurovision’s Greatest Hits concert in London alongside Graham Norton.
