ESCXTRA are live from Lisbon for day 8 of rehearsals ahead of the Eurovision Song Contest 2018! The countries rehearsing today, in chronological order, are Portugal, the United Kingdom, Spain, Germany, France and Italy. It’s a very short day today because this afternoon, the blue carpet takes place ahead of the official Opening Ceremony!

The next artist to rehearse for the second time is Madame Monsieur for France. We have just watched their latest run through of Mercy live on screen and here is our initial reaction.

Staging

They start in the middle of the main stage. For the first chorus, they go to the front of the main stage. Everything is very dark. They wear both clothes and the background is very dark with some lights.
After the first chorus both take one of the bridges and go to the catwalk. They both stay there, switch sides for the last chorus and do this hand-raise thing with the audience.
At the end the stay in the middle of the catwalk, facing each other.

Vocal

Vocals are very good. Sounds like the studio version. Very well done.

Costume

Both wear black clothes. She wears red lipstick and both wear red shoes.
