Actress and model Gal Gadot had been approached by Israeli broadcaster KAN to host next year’s contest, YNET reports.
KAN confirm actress had been approached for the role.
Gal is known to many for her portrayal of Gisele in the Fast & Furious franchise, although has also had starring roles in Batman v Superman and Wonder Woman. YNET reports that whilst broadcaster KAN had confirmed to them that an invitation had been sent to the actress, the chance of anything materialising would be slim due to her busy schedule.
They would be right to assume so, as the agency representing the actress were quick to release a statement to YNET, confirming that unfortunately, she would be unable to accept the role.
“Gal would be happy to host and take part in the Eurovision, but unfortunately, schedule constraints and previous commitments do not permit it”
The 33 year old most recently began filming the sequal to superhero movie Wonder Woman, of which a release date of 1st November 2019 has been confirmed by Warner Bros. pictures.
Gal showed her support to Netta during Grand Final
During the grand final of this year’s contest, Gadot appeared to show her appreciation of the event, in a series of instagram posts in which she offered her support and congratulations to Netta.
Following the news, it’s clear that broadcaster KAN are well and truly into their plans for next year’s contest. Last week, the EBU urged fans not to start booking accomodation as a host city and dates were yet to be decided.
