Two time Melodifestivalen finalist Lisa Ajax has released a single just in time for the summer. The uptempo dance, piano-house track is stylistically in a similar vein to “Think About You“, a song she released earlier in the year.
Lisa Ajax at Melodifestivalen
Lisa’s first participation in Melodifestivalen was in 2016 with the song ‘My Heart Wants Me Dead’. Lisa received the most votes in the third semi-final, allowing her to go ‘direkt till final’ at Friends Arena with a chance of representing Sweden on home soil. She eventually placed seventh in the final. After the contest, the song had success in the Swedish charts, peaking at 10th! The song was written by Anton Hård af Segerstad, Linnea Deb, Joy Deb, Nikki Flores, and Sara Forsberg. The first three names are no strangers to Melodifestivalen and Eurovision! Dubbed ‘The Family’, the songwriters have penned several entries in national finals, in particular Melodifestivalen. Three songs have made the Eurovision stage: “You” for Robin Stjernberg in 2013, Måns Zelmerlöw’s Eurovision winning song “Heroes” in 2015 and most recently “Monsters” for Saara Aalto this year!
The following year Lisa returned to the contest with another song penned by The Family with “I Don’t Give A”. Before the contest started she was widely seen as a possible contender to win the ticket to Kyiv. She came third in the second semi-final and beat Axel Schylström in the Andra chansen duel for a ticket to the final. She eventually came ninth in Melodifestivalen 2017.
