New Music Friday – Releases from AWS, Gromee & a Eurovision winner

This weeks hot new releases from the Eurovision world

Welcome to the first edition of New Music Friday, a new weekly feature taking a look at this week’s new music releases from the Eurovision world.

AWS – Hol Voltál?

They set the Eurovision stage alive earlier this year with their entry Viszlát nyár. Now, Hungarian rockers AWS return with their follow-up single titled Hol Voltál?.  Although similar in style, the melody is captivating and will no doubt please new fans of the group.

Freddie – Már Nem Számít

He represented Hungary at the 2016 contest in Stockholm with Pioneer and now, Freddie returns with new single Már Nem Számít.  The song features an interesting contrast of Pop & Gospel which when combined, compliments each other very well. The 28 year old performed the track at the grand final of Miss Hungary which appeared to go down a treat.

Gromee – One Last Time (feat. Jesper Jenset)

Gromee lit up Lisbon when he teamed up with Lukas Meijer for Eurovision entry Light Me Up earlier this year. His next collobration is with 20 year old Norwegian singer/songwriter Jesper Jenset. With it’s anthemic tropical sound, One Last Time is the perfect addition to any summer playlist.

Salvador Sobral – Cerca Del Mar

Portugal’s Eurovision winner surprised us earlier this month by releasing his brand new Spanish single Cerca del mar. The release corresponds with his current Spanish tour, which begun on 27th June in Malaga and ends in Madrid on 24th September.

Mendez – Wonderwall

Despite not making it to the contest for Sweden this year, Mendez gave us a memorable performance at this year’s Melodifestivalen with his uptempo number Everyday.  He’s back with a new summer offering titled Wonderwall. Although not as cheerful as his Melfest entry,  it features some fantastic production accompanied by a very catchy chorus!

One you might have missed…

Nicole Cross – Loving U ft. Frans

Frans won the hearts of many when he took to the stage in Stockholm with heartfelt ballad If I Were Sorry.  Since the contest, Frans took a brief hiatus to continue his studies, but promised he’d be back.  Thankfully, it looks like the hiatus has been lifted as he features on Loving U, the brand new single from German artist Nicole Cross.  With its mainstream sound and slick production, the song is definitely made for radio.  Vocals from the pair compliment each very other nicely too.
