In December, Orgesa Zaimi entered the running to represent Albania in the Eurovision Song Contest 2018. Despite not winning Festivali i Këngës and then the ticket to Lisbon, she has been a huge favourite among the Eurovision fans. The irreverence of her style and the energy and positivity of her song earned her many fans around Europe. After all these months, we can finally watch the videoclip of “Ngrije zërin”.
The videoclip
In the videoclip we can see Orgesa Zaimi with a more classy style, wearing a beautiful red dress. She is joined by several people of different ages and cultures, transmitting us a message of diversity and unity. The strongest point of her live act was Orgesa’s energetic and powerful performance and that energy isn’t lost with the videoclip with everyone singing and dancing to her song. We didn’t manage to see her performing in Lisbon, but we can still appreciate this beautiful and positive entry. Who knows, we may just see Orgesa Zaimi in the Eurovision stage in the future?
Albania in the Eurovision Song Contest
Albania has made its debut at Eurovision in 2004 with Anjeza Shahini and the song “The image of you”. Since then, the country has participated in every edition of the contest, their best result being the fifth place achieved in 2012 with the emotional song “Suus” performed by Rona Nishliu. After 2012, Albania went through a period of bad results as between 2013 and 2017 they only managed to qualify once, in 2015. However, last May the amazing Eugent Bushpepa managed to break the “spell” and took Albania to the final with his powerful song “Mall”. Any special wishes for Albania in 2019?
