UK’s James Newman gives live debut of ‘My Last Breath’ in exclusive online special

Available to stream on BBC iPlayer today

The UK’s Eurovision representative for 2020, James Newman, will give the first live performance of his entry ‘My Last Breath’ in an exclusive online special.

The Grammy-nominated songwriter and BRIT award winner sits down with the BBC’s Eurovision commentator, Graham Norton, in an exclusive interview that will be available to stream on BBC iPlayer from today.

Whilst speaking of his Eurovision participation, James reflects on filming the music video for the track and why Dutch athlete Wim Hof’s special guest feature was an absolute must.

“I went there [to Poland] last year and stayed in this house on the side of a hill and did all these crazy breathing techniques that help heal your soul, and we swam in cold lakes. On the last day we hiked up a mountain, just in our shorts for three hours, it was snowing – which was crazy. So I was like, ‘I’d love to have him in the video!”

James also looks back on his songwriting success and the story behind writing Rudimental’s ‘Waiting All Night’, which went on to win Best British Single at the 2014 BRIT Awards.

“One week I was working in a restaurant and the next week I had a Number 1 single. It was on the radio as I was finishing my last shift.”

The special will conclude with the first live performance of the UK entry.

Eurovision 2020: Graham Norton meets the UK Artist will be available on BBC iPlayer from 10am this morning.
