Due to the fact that Russia has two broadcasters responsible for the Russian participation in the Eurovision Song Contest, they take it in turns in alternating years to chose the representative for the biggest of all the competing nations. This year it was C1R’s (First Channel’s) turn. They decided to run an internal selection to find their artist. The other broadcaster is Russia 1.

Who are Little Big?

Little Big is a rave band founded in 2013 in St. Petersburg. Its members include Ilya Prusikin, Sergey Makarov, Sonya Tayurskaya, and Anton Lissov. The band describes itself as a “satiral art collaboration, which relies on the music, visuals, and the show”. So far, the band has released a total of 4 studio albums.

The band went viral with the release of their song “Skibidi” in 2016, after the dance that is featured in the video created the viral “Skibidi Challenge”. The video has currently spawned over 360 million views.

Besides “Skibidi”, several other of the band’s music videos have managed to gather millions of views, including the song “I’m Ok”, which also became a TikTok sensation.
