Last month, Netta released her brand new single “Cuckoo” to coincide with “Eurovision: Europe Shine A Light”. During the show, she performed the track from her bedroom in one of the night’s most memorable moments. Now, almost a month later, it is time for the official video clip release!
Making the track
The quirky music video, a style we’ve come to know and love from Netta, was directed by Roy Raz and produced by Vered Samin Schass. “Cuckoo” itself was written by Netta, Bert Elliott and Krysta Youngs with song production duties taken care of by Bert Elliott and J. R. Rotem. Rotem has many international #1 hits to his name, including Rihanna’s “SOS”, Jason Derulo’s “Whatcha Say”, Sean Kingston’s “Beautiful Girls” and Leona Lewis’ “Better In Time”. Perhaps “Cuckoo” will be Rotem’s next international smash hit?
For those of you who have only heard “Cuckoo” on Eurovision: Europe Shine A Light, its definitely worth listening to the official studio version too. This version, which you will also find in the official video clip, contains more production elements whilst maintaining the same mood and message.
