🇱🇹 Ieva Zasimauskaitė releases new single “Labas Tau Tariu”

Yesterday, Lithuania’s 2018 Eurovision Song Contest representative Ieva Zasimauskaitė unveiled her brand new single “Labas Tau Tariu” alongside a fantastically cool music video.

A new 80s sound

“Labas Tau Tariu” is a very different sound for Eurovision fans who will be familiar with Ieva’s Eurovision fan favourite “When We’re Old”. The track, mastered by Marius Matulevičius and co-composed by Ieva and Andrius Borisevičius, has an uptempo retro 80s sound that is the perfect contradiction to Ieva’s unique vocal tone. Lyrics for the track were written by Ieva, Rūta Toleikė and Andrius Borisevičius.

Fan favourite in Lisbon

Ieva dominated Eurovizijos Atranka back in early 2018 to earn the Lithuanian ticket to Eurovision in Lisbon. Her beautiful ballad “When We’re Old” was warmly received by fans in the arena and across Europe and earned her nation a 12th place finish in the grand final. This became Lithuania’s third-best result at Eurovision in their 20 appearances at the contest to date, with only 2006’s LT United and 2016’s Donny Montell faring better.

Ryan Cobb

My first memory of watching the Eurovision Song Contest was back in 2001 and, over the years, my passion and enthusiasm for the contest has very much turned into an obsession. I adore music and I love geography, so this contest is a natural fit for me. If la la loving Eurovision was a crime, I'd certainly be a criminal!
