Duncan Laurence at the Eurovision Song Contest

In January 2019, Dutch broadcaster AVROTROS revealed that Duncan Laurence will represent The Netherlands in Tel Aviv for the Eurovision Song Contest. The rather unknown young singer made Europe emotional and maybe even tear with his beautiful ballad “Arcade”. Quickly after his song got released, Duncan made his way to the top of the betting odds and never gave that first place away. In Tel Aviv he performed in a very strong second semi final, between Norway and North Macedonia. He managed to qualify and performed in 12th spot in the grand final. The voting was so exciting! At the end of the jury votes, The Netherlands were in third place, close enough to still catch the win. With 261 points, Duncan received enough points to win the 64th Eurovision Song Contest. The first Dutch win in 44 years!
