In October, it was announced that Daði Freyr and Gagnamagnið would be returning to represent Iceland at Eurovision 2021. Now, Daði has teased fans by saying that he “just finished the lyrics” for his upcoming Eurovision entry.
Last month, Daði revealed to NME that he was working on 11 demos for Eurovision, before choosing one to focus on. His 2021 entry will be his third Eurovision-related song, after his 2017 Söngvakeppnin entry “Is This Love?” and 2020 Eurovision entry “Think About Things”.
Teasing fans with a sneak peek
In true Daði Freyr style, alongside his teaser tweet, he posted a “sneak peek” of the lyrics of his Eurovision song – which has caused many people to joke about ‘cracking the code’ for the lyrics.
After months of speculation, this may confirm that Iceland will internally select their entry for Eurovision. However, it is still unknown how their song will be selected and a national final may be on the cards.
Feeling the love for the New Year
As well as teasing his Eurovision entry, Daði also confirmed yesterday that he would be releasing a new song with ÁSDÍS from the Icelandic-Norwegian group Banglist. Their new single, “Feel The Love”, will be released on 1st January 2021.
You can pre-save the song on Spotify, Apple Music and Deezer here.
