Albania’s Eurovision 2021 representative Anxhela Peristeri recently performed her entry “Karma” on Telebingo Shqiptare.
Anxhela Peristeri won the 59th edition of Festivali i Këngës and therefore got the right to represent Albania at the Eurovision Song Contest 2021. The winning entry “Karma” will be sung in Albanian in Rotterdam. The song is composed by Kledi Bahiti and the lyrics are written by Olti Curri.
Albania at the Eurovision Song Contest
Albania debuted at the Eurovision Song Contest back in 2004 and has participated every year since. Anjeza Shahini was the first to fly the country’s flag at the contest with her song “The Image of You“. She finished in 7th place with 106 points.
Over the years, Albania qualified for the final on 8 occasions. So far, their best result is Rona Nishliu’s 5th place achieved in Baku in 2012 with her iconic ballad “Suus“.
Arilena Ara was set to represent Albania in 2020 with the song “Fall From the Sky” before the contest was cancelled due the COVID-19 pandemic. Arilena didn’t return to Festivali i Këngës to get another chance at representing the country this year.
