Rehearsal review

Rehearsing right now inside the Rotterdam Ahoy is Hooverphonic, performing “The Wrong Place” for Belgium. We will continue to update this article as each run through takes place, so make sure to keep refreshing for the most up-to-date review!

Hooverphonic are on after Albina and start dark with strobes of white light. Geike stands in the middle of the main stage with the members of Hooverphonic, a woman singing backing vocals and another man playing the drums on podests around her. The setup is similar to Norway, meaning that there are 4 podiums with people on them around the main singer.

Geike is wearing a short black dress with sparkly stones on it and thigh-high black boots. We get a lot of close ups of her face and additional shots of her face on the big LED screen. During the final part of the song, her face is even projected onto the transparent screen.

Colour scheme wise, we only really have white light and no real colour and the whole performance feels very dark and mysterious, almost like an acoustic concert. The camera often moves around Geike or the podiums and she often looks very intensely into the camera.

Rehearsal video clip

We will update the article, once the EBU has uploaded the rehearsal video clip on the official Eurovision channel.
