Rehearsal review

Firstly, remind yourselves what happened in the first rehearsal:

And now here is what we’ve noticed in today’s second rehearsal:

As Wiv pointed out on our stream, there is something about this performance that feels quintessentially ‘Daði’. Having not been the biggest fan of the song on its own, the performance brings it to life and succeeds the legacy of “Think About Things” brilliantly.

Of course, there are some elements that casual fans of “Think About Things” will recognise. Most noticeably, the final pre-chorus where the choir comes in, we get the classic wind machine moment in a close up of Daði. However, the pixelated avatars in the LEDs and the genius circular keyboard moment feel fresh and dynamic additions to the canon.

The staging is bright, captivating, engaging and, most importantly, memorable. It’s an absolutely feast for the eyes. It is for all these reasons that this will be a televote magnet. The ‘firework fake out’ is an incredibly smart idea and acts as a cherry on top of the cake. Although the fight for the win is still a multi-horse race, I cannot see this not hoovering televotes on the night of the final.
