Rehearsal review

Firstly, remind yourselves what happened in the first rehearsal:

And now here is what we’ve noticed in today’s second rehearsal:

Firstly, I think it’s worth mentioning that even during the ‘dry runs’ today, this still completely pops off. What we are seeing here is a masterclass in camerawork. Each member of the band gets a feature and is contributing to the overall effect of the performance. It feels very cohesive and gripping, even within an empty arena.

Of course, we then got the EXPLOSION of flames throughout the third run, which ties everything together. There really isn’t much more I can say about this because the first rehearsals was almost flawless already. The band are on form and have been remarkably consistent throughout, but there is still fuel in the tank to go to 110 for when it counts.

This will be a televote magnet in the semi, as there is nothing like it in the line-up. I’m less confident about a strong jury vote, but with Iceland, the UK and Denmark voting in this semi, I am not too concerned. Whether this will cut through in the final will be running order dependent.

Qualifier or not?
