They were awarded the same week they cracked the US Billboard top 40

Another week, another set of accolades for our reigning champions Måneskin. Last week, the band were honoured by the Mayor of Rome, their home city, amid their ongoing international success. They also hit a new milestone as their cover of “Beggin'” entered the Billboard Hot 100.

As reported by Euronews, Måneskin have been honoured by the Mayor of Rome in light of their international success. In a special ceremony in their home city, where they once performed as buskers on the streets, the band received a small replica of Lupa, a wolf that has become a symbol of the city.

“I am aware of Spain that is going very well,” said lead singer Damiano David on their international rise, “Russia is going very, very well, England and Netherlands. Scandinavian countries.” “Everywhere!!!,” added bassist Victoria De Angelis.

In a feature with Rolling Stone, the band expressed that they’re looking to release their third album before the end of 2021. The timing would be ideal, as they have just broken into the top 40 of the US’ Billboard Hot 100 at no. 35 with their cover of “Beggin'”.
