🇬🇷🇨🇾 Details of Evangelia’s Eurovision 2022 proposal revealed

She reportedly has three potential entries ready, with accompanying visuals and staging concepts.

Over the past few weeks, the process of selecting Greece’s next Eurovision act has become one of the hottest races of the season, much like Cyprus’ tender for Eurovision 2021 last summer. Evangelia, who had been tipped by our editors previously as an act we’d like to see at the contest, has revealed more details of her proposal, which could even see her bidding to represent Cyprus also.

Last month, Evangelia confirmed via her Instagram story that she had recently met with Panik Records, the label behind recent Eurovision stars Eleni Foureira and Elena Tsagrinou.

According to OGAE Greece, Panik Records are ready to put forward their proposal for Evangelia’s Eurovision 2022 package. The report, supported by a recent Q&A on the singer’s Instagram, states that the proposal includes three songs, each of which have accompanying visuals and staging concepts. Evangelia described the songs as similar to her past singles such as “Pame Pame” and “Fotia”, containing both Greek and English lyrics with Greek folk elements.

According Cyprus Mail, the singer is also putting these songs forward to Cypriot broadcasting corporation CyBC, which is unsuprising considering Panik Records’ continuing collaboration with the broadcaster. Notably, Evangelia was one of the artists named in our editorial on what we would like to see from Cyprus at Eurovision 2022.

Greece’s Eurovision 2022 process so far

Fresh from their best result at Eurovision since 2013, it was reported earlier this year that Greece’s ERT will commence their preparations for next year’s contest in October. Having confirmed their participation, the broadcaster announced a call for proposals from record labels back in September.

Since then, the following artists have reportedly been putting together proposals for ERT:

  • Amanda Georgiadi
  • Elias Kozas (Greece 2013)
  • Evangelia
  • Good Job Nicky
  • Joanne
  • Kalomira (Greece 2008)
  • Konstantinos Christoforos

With the slated deadline for proposals being October 10, we will soon know who the likely contenders are in more detail.
