The management team, artists and fans really wished for the better outcome for Het Grote Songfestivalfeest in terms of new lockdown rules introduced recently in the Netherlands. However, there is no hope for now, sadly.
Last week the Dutch government implemented stricter rules to prevent the coronavirus spread. Apart from social distance, face masks and QR codes, public places should close by 17.00 now. It created a threat for most events like concerts, theatre plays and other shows to happen within these weeks. The Het Grote Songfestivalfeest organisers were concerned as well and promised to get back with an update on the event.
Today the team published the official announcement that unfortunately, Het Grote Songfestivalfeest is cancelled this year. The event was supposed to take place on December 9th, 2021 in Amsterdam. The Facebook post explains it wasn’t the easiest decision to take but the new restrictions leave no other options. Any updates on new dates and refund will follow later.
