Earlier the Icelandic broadcaster RÚV invited Ukraine’s Eurovision 2021 representative Go_A to perform at the final of their national selection for Eurovision Song Contest 2022. However, due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the band is unable to travel to Iceland.
Confirmed today in the second semi-final of Söngvakeppnin, Go_A is unable to travel to Iceland next weekend. Replacing them as the interval act for the Icelandic national final is Tusse, who represented Sweden at the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 with the song “Voices”.
Iceland will select their Eurovision 2022 representative at the final of Söngvakeppnin 2022. Five songs will compete on March 12th. Two songs qualified from each of the two semi-finals after the public vote and one song was selected to the final as the wild card.
Iceland will take part in the first semifinal of the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 in Turin. They will perform on the second half of the show on May 10th.
