On Saturday night/Sunday morning, Portugal became the last country of all to select their entry for Eurovision 2022. Maro won Festival da Canção 2022 with “saudade, saudade”, which will represent Portugal in Turin in May.
Today, RTP have published the full voting results for both semi-finals of Festival da Canção 2022.
Portugal’s entry for Eurovision 2022 was determined by a 50/50 jury/televote split. The jury vote comprised of the seven regional juries (Lisbon, North, Central, Alentejo, Algarve, Madeira and the Azores). Their points were combined from those of the Portuguese public.
According to the rules, the televote takes precedence in the event of a tie for first place, as was the case last year. However, in the semi-finals, it was the jury vote that broke ties.
