New music from Romania's 2022 representative

Romania will be represented at the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 by WRS with “Llámame”. While preparing for the contest, WRS has released a new single “Lily”.

The song is written by Romanian singer Holy Molly and production duo Marcel Botezan & Sebastian Barac together WRS himself. Marcel Botezan and Sebastian Barac are known for being part Play & Win, who produced multiple hits for Romanian artists such as Inna and Akcent. They also co-wrote one of the entries in Romania’s national final in 2020, “Cherry Red”.

WRS won Romania’s national selection for Eurovision 2022 in early March. His song “Llámame” was the favourite of the five-member jury and finished second in the televote, with only 240 votes behind the televote winner. The 29-year-old singer has been nominated in Romanian music awards The Artist Awards twice and his music video have been watched on YouTube over seven million times.

At the Eurovision Song Contest 2022, Romania hopes to qualify to the final for the first time since 2017. Last year the country was represented by ROXEN, who failed to qualify to the final with the song “Amnesia”. This year Romania will compete in the second semi-final of the contest in Turin. WRS will perform on the second half of the show.
