Love Generation was a lot of fun, but was not for me

It’s been over nine years since Cornelia took to the Melodifestivalen stage as part of Love Generation. Despite less than 700 votes short of proceeding to the grand final, Cornelia recalls the time as a lot of fun.

It was a lot of fun but also a strange circus to go into. We didn’t write the music ourselves which creates a distance as you are still expected to deliver it like it is your story. What I learnt was that it was not for me.

The story she wants to tell in Turin

Cornelia spoke about the message of her song Hold Me Closer and the story she hopes to tell the viewers watching her performance.

There’s a lot of emotions in this song. It’s about a break up but it’s not the most dramatic one, its more so the acceptance – even though it sucks! I think the transparency is the most important thing for me to tell with this song.

Sweden will take part in the second semi final of the 2022 Eurovision Song Contest. Cornelia will perform Hold Me Closer in 17th position on Thursday 12th May.
