Rehearsal review
Stage presentation
A song like this needs effective staging, and they managed to pull that off. The lights are blue and burgundy and perfectly fit the theme of the song, which is further elevated by the good use of the waterfall. It looks quite a lot like the national final performance, but just more polished.
It was a very nice rehearsal, there are mixes between closer shots of them and wider shots that show them on a stage that doesn’t feel too big for them. There are stars/glitters behind them that add an extra charm! We particularly loved the shot during the bridge where their camera shots are merged together and it looks like they’re all singing close together.
Costumes and styling
Not many surprises here, their costumes are similar to the national final. It works well for them! One of the sisters is wearing a red jumpsuit, the other is wearing a classic country outfit with a hat, and the last one is wearing a lovely pink dress. They’re all holding their guitar like in the national final!
Vocal quality
Perfect. As we knew from the national final, they sing very well and it sounds similar to the studio version. Absolutely no complaints here.
Overall impression
This is very professionally and impressively staged. The lights are a nice surprise, and it just all feels like a warm hug. The lights are beautiful and work in their favour, this is really a great performance. Vocally it’s perfect too, so it was really just an overall nice experience to watch. It definitely increased its qualifying chances, the juries will love this, and for the public it will be a breath of fresh air. Great job, Iceland!
