Just one week after finishing at an impressive 9th place at the Eurovision Song Contest 2022, MARO released hew newest single “it keeps on raining” on May 20th. Ever since winning Festival da Canção 2022 with her Eurovision entry “Saudade, saudade”, MARO has released several singles promoting her upcoming album, such as “we’ve been loving in silence” and “am i not enough for now?”. Once again, MARO teamed up with “Saudade, saudade” co-writer John Blanda.
“it keeps on raining”
Even though the title suggests otherwise, “it keeps on raining” actually feels like a total summer bop that could be heard playing on any top 40 hit radio. MARO sings about heartbreak and letting go of the person you love, a genre she refers to in many of her songs. The song feels very contemporary and has some rap/hiphop elements that can be recognized.
