New Music Friday – this week with Monika Liu, Hurricane, Michael Rice and more!

Ten of the best new songs from Eurovision artists!

Misha Angèle ft. Michael Rice – ‘In Love’

Last month, the United Kingdom’s Eurovision 2019 artist, Michael Rice announced a new global project with Mastercard. This week Michael broadens his music net once more in this collaboration with Misha Angèle. The Dutch singer-writer already has Eurovision connections of her own. Recently she appeared on Dutch music reality show, I Want Your Song. A show where budding writers pitch their music to established acts. One episode featured Eurovision 2017 trio OG3NE who later recorded Misha’s song, ‘Love Letter‘. For ‘In Love’, the two combine in a laid-back, R&B slow jam about the feelings of meeting someone new for the first time.

Athena Manoukian – ‘Bom Bom’

Despite missing out on the opportunity to experience a full Eurovision participation, this has not stopped Armenia’s 2020 artist from delivering more music for us on New Music Friday. The Greek-Armenian singer takes a new direction with the Spanglish language combination in ‘Bom Bom’. Between the effortless lyric transitions and the Latin trap beats, ‘Bom Bom’ is as confident as Athena’s performance in the music video.

LUM!X – ‘Club Sound’

One of Europe’s brightest young DJ’s, Lumix returns from his Turin experience and is ready to hit the clubs again. Of course the title, ‘Club Sound’ lives up to the name! Although purely an instrumental, the beats carry the listener all the way to Tomorrowland itself. At only 2:13, this rollercoaster ride of slaphouse shows off Lumix’ skills and understanding of how to build a crowd for the drops as good as anything at your local theme park.
