RTVSLO have announced the title of the song Joker Out will perform at the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 in Liverpool. Slovenia’s entry will be titled “Carpe Diem”. The title is a Latin phrase, meaning “Seize The Day”.
“Carpe Diem” out next week
Joker Out’s entry will premier on Slovenian television next week. The band recorded the preview show Misija Liverpool today and it will air on Saturday, 4th February. During the show, Joker Out will share the ins and outs of their upcoming Eurovision song. Band member Kris Guštin has been quoted on RTVSLO saying he’d like to introduce Europe to “shagadelic rock’n’roll”, so we seem to be in for quite the ride. The song is, as most of Joker Out’s music, in Slovenian.
Misija Liverpool full of Eurovision
The Eurovision preview show in Slovenia will be filled with Eurovision stars. Not only will Joker Out share their song “Carpe Diem” and their story, many others will also perform. The list includes last year’s entrants LPS and 2011 entrant Maja Keuc (now Amaya). Slovenia’s best ever finisher at Eurovision will also be there: Nuša Derenda. The same goes for the iconic lead singer of Sestre: Tomaž Mihelič.
Slovenia have also invited a regional Eurovision star. 2022 Serbian entrant Konstrakta will bring her “In Corpore Sano” to Ljubljana. Miša Molk, host of Slovenia’s national final in the past and former Eurovision commentator, will host the show next week.
