With Dansk Melodi Grand Prix starting soon, we had the chance to speak with EYJAA (Brynja and Sarah). Brynja previously competed in Söngvakeppnin 2020 with the song “Augun þín” but this time, she will be joined by her younger sister, Sarah.
The story is dark and kind of sad, and that’s something that we relate to because we have been through some of that and we’ve seen eachother in those situations.

In the interview, we spoke about Brynja’s experience at Söngvakeppnin 2020 and she told us that she was only 16 at the time. Brynja wants to use all the things she has learned from this experience to help Sarah battle any nerves that she may have.
This time, the girls are particiating with a song that suits their voices and they told us how “I Was Gonna Marry Him” came to be. Although EYJAA usually have a pop sound, they explained how this country song was perfect for them.
They may have given us some hints with staging…
