After achieving Estonia’s best result since 2018, ALIKA who wowed the audience in Liverpool last month, returns with her brand new single, ‘Too Much/Lihtsalt veab’ ahead of performing with German rock legends, Scorpions this weekend.
ALIKA releases ‘Too Much/Lihtsalt veab’
There is no such thing as too much new music as Eurovision artists continue to spoil us with their follow up singles post-Liverpool. Now it is ALIKA’s turn, as the Baltic belter delivers what is sure to be another hit after reaching eighth place in the 2023 contest. New single, ‘Too Much’ showcases a different side of ALIKA with its toe-tapping, acoustic guitar rhythm and punchy attitude. Interlaced with a story of not being afraid to be and do what you want, are the softer vocal ad-libs that give a knowing reference to ‘Bridges’. After dropping the English version earlier this month, today ALIKA treats her Estonian fanbase to ‘Lihtsalt veab’ and has also included a music video to accompany the release.
The video, produced by Vita Pictura includes familiar faces within the Estonian entertainment industry. Within it, we see ALIKA working hard and playing harder, as she channels her inner Queen’s Gambit whilst mingling with friends in a bar.
“This song was written two months before Eurovision and I wanted to motivate myself and others with this song and that you should give freedom to your dreams! Not everyone has to support you and you don’t have to rely only on them. The most important thing in my opinion is to believe in yourself! “Isn’t it getting boring already? You play a game where there is no winner in the end” – my favourite lyric from the whole song. Thank you Põhja-Korea and Kadri-Ann Mägi for knowing me so well through my music, making me feel like I wrote these lines myself. Be yourself, don’t lose faith and, of course, work hard!”ALIKA speaking to sky.ee
Scorpions to perform in Tallinn with ALIKA
As well as a new single, ALIKA’s schedule grows in demand with her increased fame. Tomorrow the songstress takes to the stage at Tallinn’s Song Festival Grounds as a special guest of German rock legends Scorpions. Although to some it might seem an unlikely uniting of music, ALIKA has grown up with the band since childhood.
“Scorpions are my childhood band. As my dad is a huge fan of rock music, Scorpions were one of our favourites that we listened to on CDs, in the car and everywhere.”ALIKA speaking to ERR
