As per tradition, the Azeri broadcaster is selecting their next Eurovision act internally.
Last year, Azerbaijan did not manage to qualify for the Eurovision final. TuralTuranX placed 14th in semi-final one with the song Tell Me More, their worst result since their 2008 debut in the contest.
This year, iTV are hoping for a better result. As usual, the selection for the next hopeful Eurovision star is internal, and 214 songs have been submitted for the broadcaster to choose from. 88 of the songs are performed by Azeri songwriters while the remaining 216 are performed by songwriters from the rest of the world.
It has not yet been revealed when iTV will make their decision about which song will have a shot at the Eurovision stage in Malmö, but the broadcaster sure has their work cut out for them with that amount of songs!
