Swedish broadcaster SVT have revealed the participants for Melodifestivalen 2024 – Sweden’s national final for the Eurovision Song Contest. Show producer Karin Gunnarsson presented the thirty artists at a press conference in Stockholm today. The running order for all the shows will follow at a later date.
In a change to previous years, 30 artists will compete across five heats. Before, 28 artists would compete across four heats before a semi-final ‘second chance’ round. Each heat will be formed of six songs, with two going through to the Grand Final in Stockholm’s Friends Arena. A further two songs will be selected in a new programme shortly after the fifth heat.
