The 27 year-old pop-opera artist will be bringing her song about Veronika Deseniška to the Eurovision stage.
Slovenia has officially chosen their next Eurovision act.
After holding an internal selection where 100 songs were reviewed by a jury and cut down to five songs. Then, the five songs were assessed by an international jury, and in the end, Raiven came out victorious. The so-called “musical alchemist” has always dreamed of going to Eurovision, as explained in the following quote:
‘Representing Slovenia at Eurovision is a stepping stone I envision for my career’s progression. When I told my mother I was going to Eurovision, she said she knew I would be standing on that stage one day. She knew it since the first time we were watching this music spectacle together – I was five years old.’
Raven has a Master’s Degree from the Ljubljana Academy of Music, and besides being a singer-songwriter, she plays the harp – and she’s an author! Truly a muti-talented artist.
“Veronika”, the song Raiven will be singing, will be released to the public sometime in 2024.
Slovenia in Eurovision
Slovenia debuted in Eurovision in 1993. Their best result has so far been seventh place in 1995 and 2001. Since 2001, Slovenia has failed to make it to the top 10.
Last year, Slovenia was represented by boyband Joker Out, who sang the song “Carpe Diem”. You can see their performance below:
