Söngvakeppnin songs released

The songs competing in this year’s Icelandic national pre-selection, Söngvakeppnin, were presented during a live show tonight. The ten acts are split into two semifinals on 17 and 24 February, where they will compete to advance to the final on 2 March.

Semifinal 1

The acts who will take to the stage in the first semifinal are

  • CeaseTone – Ró/Flow
  • Blankiflúr – Sjá þig/Love You
  • Aníta – Stingum af/Downfall
  • Sunny – Fiðrildi
  • VÆB – Bíómynd

Semifinal 2

In the second semifinal we will hear the following entries

  • Hera Björk – Við förum hærra/Scared of Heights
  • Heiðrún Anna – Þjakaður af ást
  • Bashar Murad – Vestrið villt/Wild West
  • Sigga Ózk – Um allan alheiminn/Into the Atmosphere
  • MAIAA – Fljúga burt

Eurovision participation still to be decided

It still hasn’t been finally decided whether Iceland will participate in Eurovision Song Contest 2024 in Malmö. This decision will be made after the Söngvakeppnin final, and will be made jointly by national broadcaster RÚV and the winning artist and songwriter.
