San Marino’s national final has quickly become a classic for Eurovision fans, with a runtime as long as Sanremo’s and a great mix between familiar and unfamiliar faces popping up. Undoubtedly, this year will be the same, as Sammarinese broadcaster SMRTV has revealed the nine Big Artists who will compete for the trophy to Eurovision 2024.
The Big Names
During a press conference in Milan, SMRTV revealed the Big Artists from this year. The Big Artists are like The Big Five in Eurovision: they are immediately qualified for the final, without having to go through a Semi-Final like other artists. From the Semi, seven more artists will join the nine big names.
The Big Artists are:
- Aaron Sibley
- Aimie Atkinson
- Dana Gillespie
- Jalisse
- La Rua
- Loredana Bertè
- Marcella Bella
- Pago
- Wlady, Corona, IceMc, Dj Jad
Some of these names might sound familiar to Eurovision fans! Jalisse already competed in Eurovision in 1997 with the song “Fiumi di parole”, representing Italy at that time. Another familiar name is Loredana Bertè, who competed in Italy’s Sanremo this year. The artist had expressed her wish to go to Eurovision this year, and after not winning the ticket for Italy, she is now trying her luck for San Marino! This wouldn’t be the first time that an artist goes from Sanremo to Una Voce per San Marino: in 2022, Achille Lauro did the same.
