Official Charts revealed that three songs have entered the official UK Top 40 this week: the winner Nemo, Baby Lasagna, and disqualified act Joost Klein.
Three songs enter the Top 40
The highest-ranked song entering the chart this year is the winner, Switzerland’s Nemo, with “The Code”, ranked 18th. This is just one place behind how Måneskin did three years ago. Nemo was invited on BBC Radio 1’s “The Official Chart” with Jack Saunders, which plays all 40 songs from 40 to 1, and introduced their song themselves live on radio.
Eurovision runner-up Baby Lasagna, from Croatia, also made it to the chart, at number 36. “Rim Tim Tagi Dim” was the season favorite, and finished 4th in the British televote last week.
Finally, just one spot behind Croatia, The Netherlands enter at the 38th position with “Europapa”, by Joost Klein. The song was famously disqualified a few hours before the Grand final, a decision which has been criticized by the Dutch broadcaster AVROTROS.
Five Eurovision winners in a row enter the Top 40
Nemo is the fifth winner of the contest to enter the UK Top 40 after the Grand Final. Duncan Laurence (2019, The Netherlands) entered at position 29, Måneskin (2021, Italy) at position 17 and Kalush Orchestra (2022, Ukraine) at position 38.
Last year’s winner Loreen broke record by reaching the runner-up spot in the official charts.
