Switzerland Appoints Co-Executive Producers for Eurovision 2025

The Swiss Broadcasting Corporation (SRG SSR) has announced the appointment of Reto Peritz and Moritz Stadler as co-executive producers for the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) 2025. This decision follows Switzerland’s victory at the 2024 contest with Nemo’s performance of “The Code.”

Reto Peritz, currently Head of Entertainment at SRF, and Moritz Stadler, Head of Operations at RTS, bring a wealth of experience to their new roles. Peritz has a deep history with Eurovision, having served as Switzerland’s Head of Delegation and as a member of the ESC Reference Group from 2019 to 2021. Stadler has extensive experience with the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and has worked on major projects for UEFA and FIFA.

Both Peritz and Stadler will continue in their current roles while focusing on the preparations for Eurovision 2025. SRG SSR’s management emphasized their suitability for these roles, stating, “Both media managers are excellently suited for the function, having long-standing professional experience with the ESC.” This confidence is grounded in their extensive backgrounds and previous successes in large-scale event management.

The organizational responsibilities are substantial, as noted in the announcement: “The organization of the Eurovision Song Contest in May 2025 in Switzerland is a Herculean task.” The dual leadership structure aims to leverage their combined expertise to ensure a seamless and memorable event.

The selection process for the host city is ongoing, with Geneva, Basel, and St. Gallen emerging as the main contenders. Each city has proposed impressive venues, such as Geneva’s Palexpo convention centre, Basel’s St Jakobshalle concert hall and St Jakob-Park stadium, and St. Gallen’s new Olma Hall. The final decision on the host city will be made in September 2024.

As preparations continue, the appointment of Reto Peritz and Moritz Stadler marks a significant step towards delivering a successful Eurovision Song Contest in 2025. Their leadership is expected to bring a fresh and innovative approach to one of the world’s most-watched music events. Further updates will be provided as the planning progresses.
