Now firmly back on Earth following training for a dream trip to Mars, Switzerland’s Eurovision 2016 star, Rykka presents their new single ‘High Trust High Stakes’ to explore the deep outer limits of the music galaxy.

The multi-award winning, former Eurovision 2016 participant, Rykka is back and ready to share their latest single, ‘High Trust High Stakes’. Between the dream pop synths and punchy bassline is a personal message of self-acceptance and understanding, that in this risk vs reward high stakes we invest in ourselves, it takes a lot of trust and belief in what we are capable of too.
“Initially, I wrote the song about trusting someone; navigating the ebb and flow of a relationship. But in the end, that person is no longer in my life, and I realised that shifting the song’s perspective to speak to myself really resonated. Trusting myself is interesting because it allows a certain kind of freedom. If I know I can trust myself to set boundaries or not be too hard on myself, it opens me up to try new things. I’m not an expert, but I’m working on it.”

‘High Trust High Stakes’ was written by Rykka and producer BNJI (Anddryy, Marius Bear) in Winterthur, Switzerland.

Over the past two decades, the Swiss-Canadian star has showcased their unique artistry, through music, art and film. Being able to combine those performance elements into creative expression and thought-provoking storytelling. Rykka first came to prominence with the release of the award-winning, debut album, ‘Kodiak’ in 2015.
In 2016, Swiss broadcaster SRF held the national final – ESC 2016 – die Entscheidungsshow. A total of six acts performed in the televised live Final, with Rykka earning top marks from the jury and public televote to win selection to represent Switzerland at the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 in Stockholm, Sweden. However, in what was to be one of the most highly competitive contests, Rykka undeservedly placed last in the second Semi-Final with, ‘The Last of Our Kind’.
